Visual asset license
The Opi character, stickers, app icons and showcase images
In one line: project code is MIT and dictionaries follow their upstream licenses, but the Opi character, project-drawn stickers, app icons and showcase images are proprietary assets owned by erik.xyz. Personal, non-commercial use of unmodified official builds needs no permission; commercial use requires written authorization.
1. What this license covers
- The Opi character and project-drawn expressions: sticker PNG / GIF files, the character's appearance, palette and forms, and the bitmaps/animations generated from them (including per-client build copies and embedded copies). The drawing code remains MIT; this license covers the visual design and generated assets only.
- App icons: the same character icon used by Android, Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS and HarmonyOS packages and by the system.
- Documentation and showcase images: project showcase images, social previews, form diagrams and images referenced by the README (donation QR codes excluded).
- Project-drawn UI assets shipped with the app: for example the Opi panel images in the fcitx5 themes.
2. Not covered
- OpenMoji emoji data and the derived emoji table: CC BY-SA 4.0 (credit the OpenMoji project and contributors).
- rime_kaomoji_dict kaomoji: MIT (Copyright (c) 2023 aoguai).
- Dictionary data: subject to each upstream license; see Dictionary licenses and imports.
- Donation QR codes (WeChat / Alipay): not project artwork.
- Repository source code: MIT.

- Redistributing, extracting or modifying the assets in a commercial product.
